Questionnaire Results

My findings after conducting my own primary research

The purpose of the questionnaire was to discover the likes, dislikes, attitudes and morals of the people who fall into my target audience (30-49). Originally, my first version had a fatal error; one of the age brackets was 46-55 which meant that someone who may not be 49 or under may still fall into a bracket which suggests they are my target audience. My second version corrected this. Of the 18 handed out, 15 were returned and completed. However, 7 of these were of the old version. For the sake of variety, we will assume these people are within the 30-49 age bracket.

Of the 15 completed, 2 were clearly outside of the required age range.
Of the 13 remaining, 5 were from males, 7 were from females and one preferred not to say.

The first 3 questions were to gauge the persons morals and trustworthiness.
Of the 13 results, for question 1, 7 people chose to help strangers, 4 chose the law-abiding option and 2 selected the passive option.
Of the 13 results, for question 2, 8 people chose to help the officer of the law, 3 actively refused to help and 2 ignored the officers requests. Interestingly, one who refused to help the strangers or report it to the police was also a person who refused to help the officer. This person is also female.
Of the 13 results, for question 3, one person refused to help the crossing child, 3 decided to help the child to cross and 9 decided to not only help the child, but ensure that they were safe and OK.
These results show me that people between 30-49 were more likely to help a child (92% helped to some degree) than an officer (62% helped) and even strangers (54% helped).
Of the 10 people who helped in at least 2 of 3 situations, 5 were male and 5 were female (there were more female respondents than males). Of the 5 who helped in all 3 situations, 3 were male and 2 were female. Men have been shown to be more ready to help than females.
Questions 6, 7, 8 and 9 intended to discover what kind of person people between 30-49 were and if they were reformers or explorers.
Of the 13 results, 7 were reformers, 4 were explorers and 2 were unclassified.
Of the 7 reformers, 4 were male, 2 were female and one preferred not to say. 4 helped in 2 or less of the scenarios and only 3 helped in all 3 situations. Additionally, 2 of these 3 full-helpers were male.
The final question was designed to see what kinds of programs people enjoyed. Of the 13 results, 8 liked programs like Black Mirror and Stranger Things. The other 5 liked other programs like East Enders, Emmerdale and Friends.
I have discovered that I should make a program that is thought-provoking with a new and dystopian twist.
